President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, said, American businessman and Investor, Elon Musk, enjoys massive subsidies from the American government, however, if the US government pulls away these subsidies, then, he would have to close business and return to his home country, South Africa.
The 47th President of the US said, the Tesla CEO knew way back before he endorsed him for President that, he “was strongly against the EV Mandate.”
Trump said, “Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa” once the subsidies are withdrawn, adding, there will be no more launching of rockets, satellites and production of electric vehicles.
The US President suggested, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should consider the idea of withdrawing these huge subsidies from the SpaceX CEO, saying, America will save a lot of money.
Taking to Truth Social, President Trump said: “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate.
“It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one.
“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.
“No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
