Txiki Begiristain departs his role as Manchester City Director of Football

After thirteen (13) years at Etihad Stadium, Txiki Begiristain, has exited his role as Director of Football at Manchester City.

Begiristain made the announcement in October 2024 he would be departing Manchester City with Hugo Viana taking over the role this summer full-time, and the time has now come for Begiristain to part ways with City.

He moved to the Club in 2012 and has emerged a huge part of a beautiful trophy-laden period for City.

Under Begiristain’s watch, the Cityzens have clinched 21 major trophies, encompassing, seven (7) Premier League titles, two (2) FA Cups, one (1) Uefa Champions League, one (1) FIFA Club World Cup and one (1) UEFA Super Cup.

Begiristain, former Spain international, will be the special guest for the match against Manchester United on 14 September and it will be a chance to pay tribute to his commitment, hard work and visionary abilities in the transfer market.
