PSG through to FIFA Club World Cup final after easy 4-0 wallop of Real Madrid

Merciless Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG) have progressed to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 after cruising past Real Madrid on Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Luis Enrique’s PSG produced a beautful 4-0 thrashing of Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid on Wednesday 9 July, 2025 to set up a FIFA Club World Cup final against English side, Chelsea.

Just a month on from making light work of Italian Serie A side, Inter Milan, 5-0 in the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 final, Luis Enrique’s Les Parisiens delivered another statement performance which hands them the chance to seal an incredible season with a world title at New York’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Fabian Ruiz opened scoring for the Ligue 1 2024/25 winners early, in the 6th minute, converting Ousmane Dembele’s assist; and Dembele added the second in the 9th minute.

Spanish central midfielder, Ruiz, netted his second and the third for PSG in the 24th minute, before substitute Goncalo Ramos added a breakaway fourth late, in the 87th minute, to ignite more Paris Saint-Germain celebrations.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Los Blancos new addition from Premier League side, Liverpool, was missing in action for the Spanish giants after picking up an injury prior to the showdown.

Newly crowned Kings of Europa, PSG, will make their way back to the MetLife Stadium on Sunday as strong favourites to win against Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea and add yet another piece of silverware having won a domestic double as well as the Uefa Champions League.

For Real Madrid and new head coach, Alonso, the challenge will be to put their humiliating FIFA Club World Cup 2025 end behind them as they prepare for life as Croatian midfield maestro, Luka Modrić, exits the club.

Modrić featured for Madrid against PSG, his final appearance for the Los Blancos.

HC: Madridistas what happened? Not a good way to exit a top competition like this. Best explanation should be, Coach Alonso just arrived…!! Over to Maresca.
