Late Dantata posthumously awarded Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by Northwest University

Late Businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has been posthumously awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities by the Northwest University in Kano.

Several other top personalities were also honoured by the Institution, as made known by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

Former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso; Hajiya Mariya Sunusi Dantata; HRH Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I; were awarded various honours by the University.

Governor Yusuf posted on X: “The past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting the second combined convocation ceremony of the Northwest University, Kano as its Visitor.

“Apart from thousands of graduates that were honoured, today, the University also conferred honorary doctorate degrees on five distinguished Nigerians in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education, entrepreneurship, and national development.

“Among the honourees was former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE, who received an Honorary Doctor of Education (Honoris Causa).

“Also recognised was the late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, whom was posthumously awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities received by his son, Alh. Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata.

“Hajiya Mariya Sunusi Dantata received an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities for her advocacy in girl-child education and humanitarian work.

“In the entrepreneurship category, Alhaji Aliyu Sa’adu Bebeji and Alhaji Adamu Yahaya Maikifi were each awarded Honorary Doctorates for their outstanding achievements in business and job creation across Kano and beyond.

“HRH Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I, CFR, the Emir of Lafia, was decorated as the Chancellor of the University and sworn-in by my humble self.

“I congratulate the awardees and all the graduates.”
