Governor Yusuf posted on X: “In a significant step towards ensuring a sustainable power supply across Kano State, I flagged-off the distribution of 500 electricity transformers to all the 44 Local Government Areas of our state.
“The 500 transformers, procured from reputable companies outside Nigeria, form the first phase of the distribution to communities in need.

“I also emphasised that this initiative marks a crucial milestone in fulfilling our administration’s campaign promises, particularly to rural communities that have long been deprived of access to electricity.
“The newly acquired transformers include 500, 300 and 200 KVA units, which will be distributed to communities based on their specific needs.
“In the same vein, I announced that the state-owned Electricity Company has begun evacuating power from the 10-megawatt Tiga Hydro-Power Generation Plant. I am confident that this project will significantly boost energy supply and, consequently, the state’s economy.”
