Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, has congratulated the Super Falcons after clinching their spot in the final of the Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) on Tuesday evening.
Atiku assured, Nigeria stands “fully behind” the Super Falcons even as they head into the final of the tournament.
Nigeria clinched a narrow 2-1 triumph over holders, South Africa, in the semi final showdown on Tuesday 22 July, 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco.
Atiku wrote: “Congratulations to our Super Falcons on their 2-1 victory over South Africa to reach the #WAFCON final. We are fully behind you even as you head for overall victory in the finals.”
Nigeria will face host nation, Morocco, in the final on Saturday 26 July, 2025 at 21:00 (WAT).
Morocco defeated Ghana 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.
