Tottenham Hotspur: Assistant manager, Ryan Mason, departs to the Hawthorns

Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager, Ryan Mason, has parted ways with the Spurs to take up Head Coach role at West Bromwich Albion.

Ryan has a long history at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, having joined the full-time Academy set-up in 2007 before going on to make seventy (70) appearances for the first team.

Following the conclusion of his playing career, Ryan made a come back to the Club in 2018 in a coaching capacity. He went on to emerge Interim Head Coach on two occasions, firstly in 2021, and later in 2023.

When Greek manager, Ange Postecoglou, took over as Head Coach in July, 2023, Ryan was appointed as one of his assistants. He was a member of the coaching team that helped guide the Spurs to the UEFA Europa League trophy last month.

In the final of the Uefa Europa League 2024/25, Ange Postecoglou alongside his assistant, Ryan Mason, steered the Spurs to a lone goal victory over Manchester United at Estadio San Mamés, Bilbao – home ground of Spanish La Liga club, Athletic Club – on Wednesday 21 May, 2025.

Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the encounter for Tottenham.

Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy, said: “Ryan has been an integral part of Tottenham Hotspur for a number of years, both as a player and a coach.
