Real Madrid, Spanish La Liga club, has unveiled English defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the club’s new addition.

Alexander-Arnold is joining the Los Blancos from Premier League outift, Liverpool, after helping Arne Slot’s Reds to clinch the Premier League 2024/25 title – the Club’s 20th title, same as Manchester United, who couldn’t find their footing all through the season.

The Englishman’s unveiling took place at Madrid City on Thursday 12 June, 2025.

According to the club’s official website, in his welcome statement, President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, said: “Today is another very important day for all Madridistas, because a player who has won everything has joined Real Madrid.

“He is one of the best full-backs in the world and has made history at Liverpool, one of the most important and prestigious football clubs.

“Today we welcome an exceptional player who wants to experience the excitement of wearing our shirt. We welcome Trent Alexander-Arnold.

“Dear Trent, you are now part of Real Madrid. This is the most beloved, admired and successful football club in the world. The club with 15 European Cups. If you have chosen to play for Real Madrid, it is because your talent and your capacity for sacrifice have convinced you that here you will go on to achieve new successes.

“And to help you do so, you will be supported by fans who will always be by your side and give you the strength you need when you need it most.

“The Bernabéu awaits you. There you will experience unique moments that will sometimes be difficult to comprehend. Its magic and mystique will thrill you.

“Your family has always been there for you at every step of your life. We know how much your parents, Michael and Dianne, and your brothers, Tyler and Marcel, mean to you.

“They represent the hard work and effort that made you the player you are today. You know very well the sacrifices your parents and siblings made to help you achieve your dreams. They are here, along with your girlfriend Estelle, to accompany you on one of the most exciting days of your life.”

Alexander-Arnold expressed delight after putting pen to paper for Real Madrid, saying, he is hungry for more trophies and ready to give his “all” to the club.

He said, “I want to show my game and win lots of trophies.”

Alexander-Arnold said: “Thank you to the club president and the club for this opportunity. It’s a dream come true. I’m delighted and proud to be here. I’m looking forward to showing the Madridistas my game.

“I’m aware that playing for Real Madrid is a huge responsibility, but I’m ready to give it my all. I want to show my game and win lots of trophies. To be a champion, to grow and to enjoy myself alongside the best players in the world. Hala Madrid!”

Trent Alexander-Arnold was named in Real Madrid’s 34-player squad for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 scheduled to take place in the United States (US) from June 13 to July 14, 2025.

Manager, Xabi Alonso, will guide the Los Blancos at the tournament – his first task as new head coach of the Spanish top flight giants.

Real Madrid will slug it out with Saudi Professional League club, Al Hilal, in their first FIFA Club World Cup 2025 game.
