Official: Liverpool agree deal to sign goalkeeper Armin Pecsi

Premier League outfit, Liverpool, have completed their second signing of the summer, making a shocking move for Hungarian goalkeeper, Armin Pecsi.

Pecsi is the latest to join, with Liverpool announcing on Saturday 7 June, 2025 that the goalkeeper put pen to paper on his contract and scaled through his medical at the AXA Training Centre.

According to reports, a fee of £1.5 million was agreed with Puskas Akademia, a club record for the Hungarian top-flight side.

It is a shocking move to bring the youngster to Anfield, with the Reds already having Alisson, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Harvey Davies in their squad; Davies has recently signed a new contract.

Liverpool let Caoimhin Kelleher go this summer as well as academy goalkeepers Jakub Ojrzynski, Reece Trueman and Jacob Poytress.

It is believed that Pecsi will start by fielding for the under-21s with a view to training among the first team squad.

Previously, Pecsi has been nominated for the prestigious European Golden Boy award, after his performances for both Puskas Akademia and Hungary’s under-21s.

He already recorded seventy (70) appearances to his name at senior level, including fifty-two (52) for his current team, clinching twenty-one (21) clean sheets overall.

Pecsi has clinched a total of twenty (20) caps across three different youth age groups for his country, Hungary.
