LA Protests: Appeals Court rules President Trump can use National Guard Troops to keep cities safe

The Appeals Court has ruled, President Donald Trump “can use the National Guard to keep our cities, in this case Los Angeles, safe.”

This is coming after Governor of the State of California, Gavin Newsom, sued ths President for unleashing the National Guard Troops on Los Angeles to extinguish the demonstrations which turned into riots.

The peaceful protests, which started last Friday over Immigration raids and turned into riots, forced President Trump to summon the National Guard on Saturday; and on Monday, the US Leader ordered US Marines to support the Guard.

On Monday, President Trump ordered additional 2,000 National Guard Troops and 700 Marines, marking an extraordinary use of military forces to support civilian police operations within the United States (US).

Trump said, if he didn’t send the troops to Los Angeles, “that city would be burning to the ground right now.”

Reuters reports: “The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision does not mean that the court will ultimately agree with Trump, but it does leave command of the Guard with the president for now.”

President Trump said: “The Appeals Court ruled last night that I can use the National Guard to keep our cities, in this case Los Angeles, safe. If I didn’t send the Military into Los Angeles, that city would be burning to the ground right now. We saved L.A. Thank you for the Decision!!!”
