Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, made known, he has directed all relevant aviation agencies to “thoroughly look into the issue” between Air Peace and Senator Adams Oshiomhole.

Nigerian Airline, Air Peace, had released a statement that, “a prominent Nigerian politician”, after being informed of his missed flight, resorted to violence and “physically assaulting” a staff.

The “prominent Nigerian politician”, who happens to be Senator Adams Oshiomhole, responded to the Statement saying, the Airline was extorting from its passenger.

In reponse to Oshiomhole’s claims, Air Peace released another statement demanding the Senator provide evidence of extortion by the Airline from its passengers.

Keyam said, he has been contacting both parties directly since the “incident”, and directed aviation agencies from “jumping into conclusions”.

The Minister said, he pleaded with Air Peace and Oshiomhole “to halt the public accusations and counter-accusations”, adding, aviation agencies will carry out investigations into the issue and bring evidence to his office so that the issue can be death with.

Taking to his official X account, Keyamo said: “In the wake of the incident at the Lagos Airport last Wednesday involving AIRPEACE Airline and His Excellency, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, I have been in direct contact with both parties since that morning.

“I also directed the aviation agencies to exercise restraint in jumping to conclusions in line with the time-honoured legal principle of ‘hear all sides’ before reaching judgment.

“Whilst appealing to both sides to halt the public accusations and counter-accusations, I am further directing the relevant aviation agencies to thoroughly look into the issue, collect all available evidence and revert to my office so we can deal with the issue in such a way as to guide future conducts in similar situations.

“Thank you.”
