FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Chelsea releases squad and shirt number

Premier League club, Chelsea, have released its sqaud list and shirt numbers for the FIFA Club World Cup.

Four of the Club’s new additions will be among the travelling players to America.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will be hosted in the United States (US) from June 14 to July 13, 2025.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea will jet out of England on Friday ahead of their first clash against Los Angeles FC on Monday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The tournament which has thirty-two (32) teams competing, pulls together the most successful clubs from each of the six (6) international confederations – AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.

Chelsea clinched its qualification for the tournament through its Uefa Champions League triumph in 2021.

Maresca’s 28-player sqaud is strengthened by four (4) new signings including, goalkeeper, Mike Penders; defender, Mamadou Sarr; midfielder, Dario Essugo; and striker, Liam Delap.

English attacking midfielder, Cole Palmer, will flaunt a different shirt number this season; he will wear Number 10.

Chelsea are heading to the FIFA Club World Cup after winning the Uefa Europa Conference League 2024/25 beating Real Betis in Poland.

The Blues came from the back to discomfit Real Betis 4-1 in the UECL final on Wednesday 28 May, 2025.

The feat means Chelsea have emerged the only team to win all three Uefa major trophies – Champions League, Europa League and the Europa Conference League.
