Premier League 2024/25: Manchester City 3-1 Bournemouth – Marmoush inspires Cityzens to victory as De Bruyne bids farewell

Belgian midfield maestro, Kevin De Bruyne, featured in his final home game as Manchester City cruised to a 3-1 triumph over AFC Bournemouth to close in on a top-five finish.

City head coach, Pep Guardiola, said ahead of the top flight encounter that distractions would harm his side’s hopes of clinching Champions League football – neither De Bruyne’s Etihad farewell nor Rodri’s first appearance in a matchday squad since September should interfere in the task on ground.

Omar Marmoush opened scoring in the 14th minute for Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League match on Tuesday 20 May, 2024, before Bernardo Silva and Nico González added the second and third in the 38th and 89th minute respectively.

D. Jebbison added a consolation for Bournemouth late, in the 6th minute of additional time to deprive the hosts of clinching a clean sheet.

With this result, Manchester City are third with 68 points, while AFC Bournemouth are 11th with 53 points.

On the other side, it ended 4-2 between Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers in favour of the Eagles.
