Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya, emerged Player Of The Match following his beautiful performance for the Gunners in the Premier League match against Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Declan Rice netted the only goal of the encounter for the home side in the 55th minute after an improved performance from the Gunners in the second half.
Raya made series of saves to keep the showdown level in the first 45 minutes, to stop Eddie Howe’s Magpies from going in front, and help the Gunners end their four-game search for a win at home.
Newcastle United arrived in north London with hopes for the three points that would secure their return to the Uefa Champions League, and had it not been for David Raya’s heroics in goal, the visitors could have got their passports ready early doors.
Arsenal are 2nd with 71 points while Newcastle are third with 66 points, same points as fourth-placed, Chelsea, and fifth-placed, Aston Villa. Manchester City and Nottingham Forest are 6th and 7th respectively, both have accumulated 65 points each.
The fight for a spot in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 remains very tight.
