Manchester United: Bruno ‘will want to stay at this club. He loves this club’ – Amorim

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has addressed the latest round of speculation regarding the club’s skipper Bruno Fernandes.

United’s Player of the Year is reportedly pulling attention from elsewhere, and admitted after the Uefa Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur that, if the club decided to let him go, then he may have to accept the situation.

However, Amorim has come out to reaffirm the Portuguese midfielder’s love for the club, as well as, how he plans to show Fernandes that next season will be much better than the 2024/25 season.

Manchester United’s hopes of clinching a ticket in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 got shattered after a lone goal defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Uefa Europa League 2024/25.

Brennan Johnson scored the only goal of the showdown for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs which they held on until the end; Amorim’s Reds were in total control of the clash, however, were unable to break through Tottenham’s defence for a leveller.

Tottenham Hotspur will feature at the Uefa Champions League 2025/26 following this stunning outcome at Estadio San Mamés, Bilbao, Spain, home ground of Spanish La Liga club, Athletic Club.

Amorim spoke with TNT Sports, and said: “It is important for Bruno to see that we are changing a lot of things in our club.

“The behaviour, the everyday organisation, the pace of training. All these things, if he sees that we are doing that across all levels, he will want to stay at this club. He loves this club.

“That is the most important thing, not the Champions League. He wants to win with this club and he trains and behaves at a high level. Everybody here needs to do that – he will be here for that.”

Manchester United will host Aston Villa in the last Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday 25 May, 2025.

Fernandes is two goals away from 100 in all competitions for the Reds, and has netted more times (seven) against Villa than any other opponents.
