The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce team on a clean up enforcement operation “to rid the State of criminal elements” arrested 43 male and 1 female suspects in “Falomo bridge, Oyin jolayemi, Eko Hotel roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach and 1004 areas.”
Tokunbo Wahab, Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State, said, the operation took place on Thursday 1 May, 2025, and “all the Suspects will be charged to court accordingly”.
According to Wahab (X/@tokunbo_wahab): “In continuation of the agency’s clean up enforcement operation to rid the State of criminal elements, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce team set out at about 2a.m during the wee hours on Thursday, 1st May, 2025 and embarked on its clean up enforcement operation on Lagos Island.
“The areas visited during the operation includes; Falomo bridge, Oyin jolayemi, Eko Hotel roundabout, Ligali Ayorinde, Oniru Beach and 1004 areas where the presence of some undesirable elements was noticed. During the raid exercise, a total number of 43 male and 1 female suspects were arrested, and sanity was restored in all the areas.
“All the Suspects will be charged to court accordingly.”
