Chief Edwin Clark Passes At 97: Governor Oborevwori pays last respects to ‘champion for equity and justice’

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has Padi his last respects to the late Chief Dr. Senator Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON at St. Joseph Anglican Church, Kiagbodo.

The Governor tagged Chief Clark “a champion for equity, fairness, and justice”, saying, “he fiercely represented the marginalized, advocating for respect and recognition of the Niger Delta’s vital role within our nation”.

Oborevwori alongside former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan; Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, attended the commendation service and lying in state of the former PANDEF leader on Tuesday 13 May, 2025.

Governor Oborevwori (X/@RtHonSheriff) wrote: “It was an honour and privilege to pay my last respect to the late Chief Dr. Senator Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON at St. Joseph Anglican Church, Kiagbodo.

“Chief Clark was a champion for equity, fairness, and justice. He fiercely represented the marginalized, advocating for respect and recognition of the Niger Delta’s vital role within our nation. His call for unity and equality will resonate through the generations.

“As we bid him farewell, let us commit to honoring his rich legacy by embodying the values he cherished; honesty, courage, patriotism, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. May God grant his soul eternal rest.”
