Macron made the statement after “two Russian missiles hit the very center of the city of Sumy in Ukraine, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, again including children.”
President Macron said: “This morning, two Russian missiles hit the very center of the city of Sumy in Ukraine, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, again including children. Everyone knows that only Russia wanted this war. Today, it is clear that only Russia is choosing to continue it. Against human lives, international law, and the diplomatic overtures of President Trump.
“Decisive measures are needed to force Russia to cease fire. France is working tirelessly with its partners to achieve this goal. To the victims, the wounded, to all of Ukraine, which is resisting, is our solidarity, our respect, our devotion.”
