Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State, passed at the age of eighty-eight (88) on Easter Monday, 21 April, 2025.
In the photos, the mortal remains of Pope Francis are carried aboard the popemobile through the street of Rome, Italy to Basilica of St. Mary Major, their eternal resting place – His Holiness’ coffin stops for a final salute to the ancient icon of Mary Salus Populi Romani.
