2023 Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has extended hIs “profound condolences” to the family and friends of Pascal Dozie, following the demise of the “renowned banker”.
The former Vice President said, the passing of the “visionary leader is a tremendous loss to the entire country, and his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations.”
Pascal Dozie, businessman and entrepreneur, who founded defunct Diamond Bank, passed on Tuesday 8 April, 2025 at the age of eighty-six (86).
In his condolence, Atiku wrote: “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Paschal Dozie, a visionary leader, renowned banker, and esteemed educator. As the founder of Diamond Bank, Chairman of Pan-Atlantic University, former Chairman of MTN Group, and one-time President of Nigerian Stock Exchange, Paschal Dozie left an indelible mark on the Nigerian business landscape and beyond.
“I extend my profound condolences to his family, friends, and all who crossed paths with him in his journey of life.
“His passing is a tremendous loss to the entire country, and his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations.
“Dozie’s remarkable life and achievements serve as a testament to his unwavering dedication, tireless work ethics, and unrelenting passion for excellence. His contributions to the development of Nigeria’s banking sector, education, and telecommunications industries are immeasurable.
“May his memory be a blessing to us all, and may we find comfort in the knowledge that his impact will be felt for years to come.”
