The Nigerian Presidency through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, to President Tinubu, revealed: “Nigeria’s non-oil exports hit a record $1.7 billion in QI, the highest in 49 years.Cocoa and its derivatives accounted for 45 per cent of the lot. Products such as cashew nuts, sesame seeds, aluminium and copper ingots, soybeans, and rubber also topped the list of exports. Nonye Ayeni, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council executive director, said the value of non-oil exports recorded in the first quarter was 24.75 per cent higher than the corresponding value in the first quarter of 2024. She said the year-on-year increase was the highest since the council was created 49 years ago.”
