The National Sports Festival, tagged, ‘Gateway Games 2024’ is scheduled to take place between May 16 and 30, 2025.

Governor Abiodun said: “Ogun State is fully prepared to host the best National Sports Festival, with major facilities at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium and Alake Sports Centre nearing completion. Our investment in sports is already paying off, as we have been selected to host the 2026 Africa Under-20 Athletics Competition.

“Beyond sports, we are enhancing tourism to maximize the festival’s economic impact, with 15,000 visitors expected. To preserve the stadium for sports, we are constructing a new pavilion for non-sporting events and will soon rename it the M.K.O Abiola Sporting Complex.

“This festival will not only boost our economy but also help discover new talents for national and international competitions. Ogun State remains committed to excellence in sports and tourism.

“With these developments, we are setting a new standard for sports infrastructure in Nigeria. Our administration will continue to invest in initiatives that position Ogun as a hub for major sporting and economic activities.”
