Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has come out to encourage Canadians to “choose products made right here in Canada”.

The Canadian PM’s statement is coming after the US “confirmed that it intends to impose 25% tariffs on most Canadian goods, with 10% tariffs on energy, starting February 4”.
US President, Donald Trump, made known, his government will create an External Revenue Service (ERS) “to collect our tariffs, duties and all revenue that come from foreign sources”.
At the meeting with the Liberal Cabinet Ministers, PM Trudeau said, Canada is ready to take a “national response” if necessary, to protect Canadians from “harmful US tariffs”.
According to PM Trudeau: “The United States has confirmed that it intends to impose 25% tariffs on most Canadian goods, with 10% tariffs on energy, starting February 4.
I’ve met with the Premiers and our Cabinet today, and I’ll be speaking with President Sheinbaum of Mexico shortly.
We did not want this, but Canada is prepared. I’ll be addressing Canadians later this evening.”
He added: “Now is the time to choose products made right here in Canada.
