The French Ambassador is in the Southwestern State to launch the Women in Agricultural Technical Education and Apprenticeship in Nigeria (WATEA) programme.
Makinde said, under WATEA, student from both OYSCATECH and LAUTECH will be trained, adding, he discussed with Fonbaustier “about the Rungis style market to be built at the Akufo Farm Settlement”.
According to Governor Makinde: “We received the new Ambassador of France to Nigeria, His Excellency @MFonbaustier and Dr @DarracqSonia, French Regional Agriculture Counselor on a courtesy and condolence visit today. Ambassador Fonbaustier is in Oyo State on a working visit to launch the Women in Agricultural Technical Education and Apprenticeship in Nigeria (WATEA) programme. Students from both OYSCATECH and LAUTECH will be trained under this programme.
“The visit afforded us an opportunity to discuss the progress of various collaborations including the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) which will enable us rehabilitate 68 km of rural roads in the first phase. We signed the agreement with the contractors for this project last week.
We also talked about the Rungis style market to be built at the Akufo Farm Settlement, support for our primary healthcare programme as well as partnerships on energy and electrification.”
