Today marks the 77th anniversary of the inauguration of the Santiago Bernabéu. It was on 14 December 1947 that Real Madrid opened its temple of sport with a friendly against Portuguese side Os Belenenses.
The Whites won 3-1 and Barinaga had the honour of being the first player to score at the stadium.
