Fernandes was red-carded for the third time in the season during Ruben Amorim’s side’s 2-0 defeat against Wolves and will now serve a one-match ban, therefore missing the clash with Eddie Howe’s side.
Ugarte will join the United captain on the sidelines, after he picked up his fifth yellow card of the league season in the Midlands.
According to manutd.com, in his post-Wolves comments, Amorim said: “I am always frustrated with the red card, but it can happen as he always wants to go for the ball.
“It is not like he wants to stop the player with a yellow [card].
“He wanted to go for the ball, the guy got there first and there is a contact and that thing is tough on him also.”
