Namadi said, “this ₦59.5 billion collaboration between the Federal and Jigawa State governments is a game-changer, set to bring safe drinking water to over 1.5 million people.”
According to Governor Namadi: “Yesterday was a truly remarkable day for Jigawa State—we officially launched the Greater Dutse Water Supply Project! This project has been a long-time dream, and I’m happy to see the dream of providing clean, reliable water to Dutse and nearby communities finally becoming a reality.
I had the privilege of joining the Honourable Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph @JosephUtsev Utsev, for the ground-breaking ceremony at Sintilmawa, Ringim Local Government Area.
This ₦59.5 billion collaboration between the Federal and Jigawa State governments is a game-changer, set to bring safe drinking water to over 1.5 million people.
For years, water scarcity has been a huge hurdle for Dutse’s growth, affecting livelihoods, public health, and everyday life. But with this project, we’re turning the tide. When completed, 55 million liters of water will flow daily across a 56-kilometer pipeline network, transforming access to clean water for thousands of households.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks to President @officialABAT Bola Ahmed Tinubu for keeping his promise. Back in 2023, he pledged to tackle Dutse’s water crisis, and today we’re seeing that promise come to life. His support and leadership have been instrumental in making this happen, and we are truly grateful.
But this project is more than just pipelines and reservoirs—it’s about hope. Hope for healthier families, thriving businesses, and stronger communities. Together, we’re not just solving problems; we’re building a future our people deserve.”
