According to a report, Guatemala is ready to receive more deported foreign nationals from the United States (US) by the incoming Trump administration in an effort to solidify ties to the US.

Speaking to Reuters, officials said, Guatemala is willing to receive deported citizens of other Central American countries like Nicaragua, Venezuela and Haiti – which have weakened relationships with the US and have not received deportees in the past.
Official of Guatemala told Reuters, “there has to be a regional response. And we want to be part of the solution.”
It is expected that Trump will fulfil his campaign promise to kick off the largest mass deportation of illegal immigrants in American history, and Guatemala has decided to be in the president’s favor throughout that process.
