The remarks are coming after the emergence of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States (US).
2024 Presidential candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, defeated Kamala Harris, 2024 Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, to become President-Elect of the US.
Here are excerpts from opening remarks of MOFA of Japan on the US Presidential Election:
“On November 8, FM Iwaya held a press conference. He made opening remarks on the US presidential election.
“He took questions on the US next administration’s foreign policy, Japan-US relations, the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, Ukraine support, the JICA information leak incident, Palestine state recognition, the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women recommendations, and the North Korea situation.”
