Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has inaugurated “a Judicial Panel to investigate the violence, arson & destruction perpetrated at some LGA headquarters on Oct. 7”, saying, “Rivers State must not descend into lawlessness”.

This is coming as the Governor “welcomed the newly appointed commissioners into the Rivers State Executive Council, and charged them to work diligently for the entire state.”
“Violence” erupted in the South-South State following the Local Government Election that held on Saturday 5 October, 2024.
Governor Fubara said: “Today, I welcomed the newly appointed commissioners into the Rivers State Executive Council. I charged them to work diligently for the entire state, not just their LGAs. As an administration, we remain focused on curbing oil theft, boosting progress, and protecting Rivers people.
“Working together, we will deliver positive results!Also, I inaugurated a Judicial Panel to investigate the violence,arson & destruction perpetrated at some LGA headquarters on Oct. 7.
“We will uncover the causes & bring those responsible to justice. Rivers State must not descend into lawlessness.”
