Iran launched missiles against Israel “directly from Iranian soil.” Almost 200 missiles were fired over the Old City in Jerusalem, as disclosed by Israel Defence Forces (IDF).
In its gratitude to the US, IDF said: “Following yesterday’s Iranian attack against Israel, the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, spoke with the Commander of @CENTCOM, General Michael Erik Kurilla, regarding the current situation.
The IDF and the U.S. Armed Forces cooperated together in defense several days before, during, and after the Iranian attack. The IDF expresses great appreciation for this cooperation and will continue to deepen its relationship with the U.S. Armed Forces, due to our commitment to strengthening regional stability and the coordination between the militaries.”
Spokesperson of IDF, Daniel Hagari, has described Iran’s attacks against Israel on Tuesday as “a severe and dangerous escalation”, adding, “there will be consequences”.
Following the attacks, President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, said, “we have the right to defend ourselves.”
