The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya were scheduled to lock horns in the second leg of their Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier in Benghazi, Libya on Tuesday 15 October, 2024.

However, it is obvious the encounter may not hold anymore, following “disgraceful behaviour” from the Libyan government to Nigeria players and officials at the airport in Libya.

The disrespectful action by the Libyan government has forced the Super Eagles to return home.

The Nigerian team was left stranded at the airport in Libya “with no food no wifi”.

Captain of Nigeria, William Troost-Ekong, on behalf of himself and the entire team said, “we will not play this game” after suffering “dehumanizing conditions” in the hands of airport officials in Libya.

Boniface wrote: “Back to Nigeria.

“Next of kin you try ooooo.”

HC: CAF must do something about this disrespect to African football and Nigeria! These guys should not go scot-free!!
