Commissioner for works, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, made known during an inspection tour “that the State Government had mobilized contractors with 30-40% of the contract sums to expedite delivery, taking into account economic fluctuations.”

According to the Delta State Government: “On Friday, 27th September 2024, the Delta State Government urged contractors handling various projects across the state to prioritize timely and quality delivery. Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), during an inspection tour in the Orerokpe area, disclosed that the State Government had mobilized contractors with 30-40% of the contract sums to expedite delivery, taking into account economic fluctuations.

The projects inspected included the newly awarded Benin Road, Old Amukpe Road with a link to Ayemidejor Close in Sapele, the 15.75km Oviri-Okpe – Orerokpe Road, and Ezesi Road, Orerokpe.

These inspections are crucial to ensuring that the ongoing projects meet the needs of the people. Once completed, these roads will significantly improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance connectivity between communities in the state. This aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, focused on delivering sustainable infrastructure that improves the quality of life for all Deltans.”
