Nigerian sharpshooter, Victor Boniface, netted a brace as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga 2024/25 match on Saturday 14 September, 2024 at PreZero Arena.

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, in his post-victory comments, said: “we were ready to give our best today and that’s what we did in the end.
“We reacted well, controlled the game better this time and finished more steadily.”
Martin Terrie netted first for the Black and Reds in the 17th minute, and Nigeria international, Boniface added the second in the 30th minute.
Mergim Berisha pulled one back for Hoffenheim in the 37th minute, Florian Wirtzmade made it three for Xabi Alonso’s side in the 72nd minute and Boniface netted his second of the encounter in the 75th minute.
The victory was a beautiful shake off for Bayer Leverkusen from their first loss in over a year.
Alonso’s side’s 35-game unbeaten run ended after RB Leipzig came from the back to discomfit them 3-2 at Red Bull Arena on August 31, 2024.
