Mpox In Africa: ‘One health strategy is crucial in tackling outbreak’ – AfricaCDC

Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (AfricaCDC) recommends “a one health strategy in tackling the Mpox outbreak”.

According to AfricaCDC, a continental autonomous health agency of the African Union (AU): “A #OneHealth approach recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. 

A coordinated, One Health strategy is crucial in tackling the #Mpox outbreak. At 

@AfricaCDC, we emphasize the importance of domestic investment, combined with continental collaboration in research, funding, and technology, to secure Africa’s health future.”

One Health is an approach that recognizes that the health of people is closely connected to the health of animals and our shared environment. One Health is not new, but it has become more important in recent years. This is because many factors have changed interactions between people, animals, plants, and our environment.
