He added, “our world’s problem is not the number of children born into it.”
The Pope made these statements on World Population Day 2024, today, Thursday 11 July, 2024.
According to Pope Francis: “Our world’s problem is not the number of children born into it. The problem is selfishness, consumerism and individualism, which make people satiated, lonely and unhappy. #WorldPopulationDay “
World Population Day is marked annually, and observed on July 11 each year with the aim to raise awareness of global population issues.
It was created by Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989.
