This is coming after President of the US, Joe Biden, dropped out of the US Presidential Election 2024 race following concerns from within the party that he would be unable to discomfit Republican Party candidate, Donald Trump.
After announcing his exit from the US Presidential Election race, President Biden made known his support for Harris.
In his letter to “fellow Americans”, President Biden wrote: “it has been the greatest honour of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi gave VP Harris her endorsement as she said, she was lending her “enthusiastic support” to Harris’ effort to lead the party.
Additional endorsements Monday, including Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.
