PDP Governors’ Forum in Enugu State |
The PDP Governors’ Forum was hosted by Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in Enugu State; and one of the resolutions reached by the Forum is that, “Labour’s demand for a substantial salary increase is justified and supported by the forum and should take into account the ability of each level of government to meet their obligations”.
Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to “brother”, Governor Mbah, for the successful hosting of the event.
Makinde said: “Grateful to my brother, HE
@PNMbah who hosted the @OfficialPDPNig
Governors’ Forum meeting in Enugu yesterday. The meeting deliberated on a wide range of issues including the forthcoming congresses, the unprecedented hardship faced by majority of Nigerians as a result of the dismal performance of the APC-led Federal Government, the minimum wage negotiations and the recurring issue of inter-governmental relations with special reference to local government autonomy and funding.
Resolutions reached by the forum include that:
The congresses leading to the election of the party leaders at the various tiers must be all-inclusive, transparent, fair and instil compliance with the constitution of our great party.
Labour’s demand for a substantial salary increase is justified and supported by the forum and should take into account the ability of each level of government to meet their obligations.
The forum believes in the efficacy of local governments which ensures that governance is brought closer to the people as provided for in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended). The forum also will continue to support the autonomy of the local government as enshrined in the constitution.”
