UEFA Champions League 2023/24: Bayern defender Upamecano bag one match suspension

German Bundesliga reigning Kings, Bayern Munich, defender Dayot Upamecano, has been suspended for one UEFA Champions League 2023/24 game.

This is coming following his red card during the UEFA Champions League 2023/24 round of 16 first leg against Lazio at Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy; the German side lost by a lone goal to their Italian hosts.

The Frenchman will miss the second leg of the encounter in Germany.

Bayern Munich will slug it out with Lazio in the UEFA Champions League 2023/24 round of 16 second leg at Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany on Tuesday 5 March, 2024.

Following his red card in the Champions League round of 16 first leg at Lazio, Dayot Upamecano has been handed a one-match suspension from UEFA club competitions. The 25-year-old will therefore miss the second leg against the Italians at the Allianz Arena on 5 March. Thomas Tuchel’s side must overcome a 1-0 first-leg defeat next Tuesday if they are to progress to the quarter-finals of Europe’s premier club competition.
