Mason Mount thought he had clinched victory for Erik Ten Hag’s side when he found the back of the net in the 96th minute; it was the English midfielder’s first goal for United.
Hosts, Brentford, fought back and levelled in the 99th minute through K. Ajer.
Struggling United remained woeful until the final moments.
