Lagos State has received 80,000 units of 10kg bag of rice from the Aliko Dangote Foundation on Wednesday 27 March, 2024, as announced by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Governor said, “the rice donation will complement our existing interventions to address food shortages caused by inflation and support our citizens during these challenging times.”
According to Governor Sanwo-Olu: “Today, we received 80,000 units of 10kg bags of rice donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation, to support our efforts in helping vulnerable households in the State. The bags of rice will be distributed to those in need.
“Alhaji Aliko Dangote, joined by Mr. Femi Otedola and Fatimah Dangote, delivered the donation as part of the Foundation’s initiative to provide one million bags of rice to families in need across Nigeria. This act of generosity by Alhaji Dangote reflects his compassion and his dedication to making a difference in the community.
“The rice donation will complement our existing interventions to address food shortages caused by inflation and support our citizens during these challenging times. Additionally, we are preparing to distribute 100,000 combo boxes of food items to households free of charge, and we urge other private organizations to follow suit and assist in our efforts to help those in need.
“Together, with the support of the community, we will overcome these challenges and emerge stronger.”
