The Union of Comoros has acceded to the World Trade Organization (WTO) following “years of negotiations and reform to meet WTO requirements for membership”.

This was disclosed by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
She also made known that, Timor-Leste, a country in Asia, has joined the WTO, adding, the WTO now has “166 members”.
In her congratulatory message to Comoros and Timor-Leste, Okonjo-Iweala said: “Comoros and Timor Leste accede to the

As well as President @JoseRamosHorta1 and his delegation! This is the first accession after 8 years and the WTO family is excited. We are now 166 members!”
