He made this statement as the 2023 Imo State Governorship Election draws nigh.
The 2023 Imo State Governorship Election will hold on Saturday 11 November, 2023.
The Chairman of Nigeria’s Electoral Body said, “we do not have a candidate in the November 11 election”, adding, “the responsibility of who becomes the next governor of Imo State is entirely in the hands of the voters in Imo State”.
Prof. Yakubu said: “Let me repeat myself, INEC is not a Political Party. We do not have a candidate in the November 11 #ImoDecides2023 election.
“The responsibility of who becomes the next Governor of Imo State is entirely in the hands of the Voters in Imo State.
“Our commitment is to protect the integrity of the process so that who ever the people of Imo State vote for becomes their Governor.”
