Supreme Court affirms Tinubu as President: ‘No merit in Atiku and Obi’s appeal’ – Bashir Ahmad

Bashir Ahmad, Digital Communications Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari, following Supreme Court’s affirmation of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, said, Atiku and Obi’s appeals were dismissed because they had “no merit”.

On Thursday 26 October, 2023, the Supreme Court affirmed Tinubu as President after dismissing the appeals by 2023 Presidential candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

Ahmad said: “There is no merit in Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s appeal, and it is hereby dismissed. The Supreme Court has affirmed President Bola Tinubu’s victory. Congratulations Nigeria!”
