John Kirby, White House National Security Council spokesperson, reveals, existing appropriations are enough for the United States (US) to deliver emergency aid to Israel and Ukraine.

At a press conference, Kirby however said, “we’re running out of runway” and will likely need Congress to allocate more funds for Israel based on its needs.

Kirby made known that, this is difficult by the lack of a House Speaker as well as the overall chaos in the Republican Party.

Rep. Steve Scalise has been nominated to be the next House Speaker by the Republicans, however, are finding it hard to unite behind him.

It is difficult to know whether Scalise can accumulate the votes that would be needed from almost all Republicans to emerge victorious over the Democratic opposition.

Normally, the majority required would be two hundred and eighteen (218) votes, but there are two vacant seats currently, reducing the threshold to 217.
