Eddie Nketiah opened scoring for Mikel Arteta’s side in the 26th minute, before Saka added the second for the Gunners in the 32nd minute.
Arsenal, Premier League 2022/23 runners-up withstood a late pressure by Forest after substitute, Taiwo Awoniyi, pulled one back for the visitors in the 83rd minute.
Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta, in his post-match comments, said: “You want to start well and we’ve done it, and I think we’ve done it in a really convincing way, even though at the end, because of that goal we conceded, we made it a little bit harder than we should have for ourselves.”
