The Nigeria national men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, will not participate in the coming Olympics, as disclosed on the official Twitter page of the D’Tigers.

According to D’Tigers, “Talent is not the issue”, went ahead to blame “leadership” for the poor performance of the D’Tigers that led to their not qualifying for the Olympics.
It also said, “Nigeria will miss its first Olympics since 2008.”
D’Tigers said: “Nigeria will miss its first Olympics since 2008.
“Talent is not the issue. Lack of structure. Lack of support. Lack of leadership.
“The culture we once had was removed by leaders.
“Kudos to the players for showing up to fight for Nigeria in Lagos.
“Despite lack of preparation, facilities, and last-minute planning from the federation and government.
“They fought.”
