The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture (FMIC) has expressed gratitude to Nigerian airline, Air Peace, for successfully evacuating two hundred and Seventy-seven (277) Nigerian citizens from Egypt “free of charge”.

Nigerian citizens are being evacuated from Sudan in batches following heavy unrest in the North African country as a result of severe fighting between the Army of Sudan and the paramilitary force.
The fighting has resulted to the death of hundreds with several others left with various degrees of injury.
The first batch of Nigerian citizens arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday 3 May, 2023 at about 2340hrs, as revealed by Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
They were airlifted by NAF C 130 and Air Peace through the Aswan Airport, Egypt.
The evacuees have been handed ₦100,000 each by the Aliko Dangote Foundation and a sim card (MTN) loaded with ₦25,000 worth of airtime.
FMIC thanked Air Peace for airlifting Nigerian citizens to Nigeria from Egypt, saying, “Welldone @flyairpeace, thank you”.
