Workers’ Day: FG declares Monday public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Monday 1 May, 2023 as Public holiday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made the declaration and congratulated workers across the country on this year’s celebration.

International Workers’ Day is a celebration of Labourers or the working classes, and it happens every year on 1 May or first Monday in May.

It is also called Labour Day in some countries.

According to Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari: “The Federal Government has declared Monday, 1st of May as Public Holiday to mark this year’s Workers Day Celebration, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, made the declaration and congratulated workers across the country on this year’s celebration.”
