There has been fighting in Sudan for days now between the Army of Sudan and the paramilitary force, and the capital city, Khartoum, is most affected.
The heavy unrest has led to the death of hundreds and several others left with various degrees of injury.
Nigerians in huge numbers have remained trapped in the country and are pleading to be evacuated as fighting has not stopped as ceasefire deals have failed severally.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has assured that all Nigerians will be safely evacuated.
According to Bashir Ahmad, Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari, “Nigerians trapped should know their country will not abandon them”.
Fani-Kayode has asked “For God’s sake when are we getting ours out?”, saying “the French, Germans, Turkish, Portuguese, Polish, Irish, Dutch & others have evacuated their citizens”.
The ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ said: “I just watched a horrific video of Sudanese soldiers slaughtering their fellow Africans in the streets of Khartoum. The French, Germans, Turkish, Portuguese, Polish, Irish, Dutch & others have managed to evacuate their citizens. For God’s sake when are we getting ours out? If we need to send in the military we MUST do so! These are OUR compatriots and most of them are students.”
